However, this does not apply to anonymized third party tracking data (CLARIN Matomo, see below) that are recorded during your interaction with the web application, since we cannot identify these from your name or contact data.

Personal data that we collect

Visiting the website

Access data

Each time a resource (website, images, service etc.) is requested, our server stores the following data permamently in the server log:

• Your Internet Protocol (IP) Address with the last digit masked
• The timestamp of the access
• Manufacturer and type of browser you are using (User-Agent)
• The names of data and metadata files that you requested for download (if any)
• Errors or Warnings caused by your usage of the repo
• Standard Apache webserver logs (including the full IP address) are logged for the duration of 7 days

Download packages that were created by your actions are automatically deleted 48h after completion, and are not transferred in our system-wide backup system.

The IP address in the 7 days apache server logs is considered a personal date, since it makes it possible to identify you.

Our legitimate interest in storing and processing these data follows from the following purposes of processing:

• Fix technical issues
• Identification and tracking of illegal access attempts and access to the repository
• In anonymous or pseudonymized form to optimize the website
• In anonymous or pseudonymized form for statistical evaluation

Standard apache webserver log data are also logged by a third party tracker service (CLARIN Matomo), except that in the IP adress the last byte is masked. Our legitimate interest in storing and processing this data is to collect statistical data of web application usage within the CLARIN consortium. The Matomo instance is owned and maintained by CLARIN Europe. We ask your consent to this when you first access our web site. You can withdraw your consent at any time by clicking here.

Cookies and local storage

The BAS CLARIN Repository server sets cookies for the CLARIN Matomo tracker service that allows us to collect statistical data of web application use; these cookie are used to detect recurring visits to the web site. Their names start with _pk. When you first access our service, we ask your consent to setting this cookie. You can withdraw your consent at any time by clicking here.

Contact form

By submitting an inquiry using the contact form (CLARIN Help desk), you voluntarily consent to us saving your inquiry for the purpose of processing and contacting you to answer the inquiry.
