The Local Mode

In local mode you are going to transcribe an audio file located on your computer. The proceedings are saved in your web browser. After you finished your work, you can export it to various file formats.

The workflow

The general workflow is as described:

1. Open your audio file in OCTRA.
2. Transcribe (see the chapters about the editors).
3. Export your proceedings to a file format and save it to your computer.
4. Reload the page in order to open a new audio file and start again with 1..

Tier selection

The local modes allows to add/remove/change tiers. The currently active tier is highlighted in green.

Reload audio file

If you reload the page OCTRA needs to read the audio file again. OCTRA says what audio file it is looking for. If you want to load another file you can just add it and click on "START NEW TRANSCRIPTION".
